Chaim Veshalom Hatzola Gilo-Har Choma was established in response to the overwhelming demand for emergency medical assistance in the neighborhoods of Gilo and Har Choma, which are located on the outskirts of Jerusalem. Chaim Veshalom is prepared to respond to emergency medical situations anytime and anywhere, sometimes under the most stressful and trying of circumstances. Chaim Veshalom’s dedicated skilled volunteers, often called “first responders”, are on call 24/7 and are often the first emergency workers to arrive at the scene of a terror attack or a medical emergency where they perform triage and offer medical assistance to the victims during those first critical moments, providing a lifesaving bridge until Magen David Adom arrives. Examples of some emergency situations include terror attacks, heart attacks, road accidents, choking victims, and search and rescue of missing persons.
After our volunteers receive their initial certification from Magen David
Adom, Chaim Veshalom gives each new EMT a medical kit filled with the necessary
equipment needed to administer the most efficient emergency medical aid.
Chaim Veshaloms volunteers are constantly learning how to best use this
highly advanced equipment in bi-weekly refresher courses. If a piece
of equipment breaks or disappears due to havoc during an emergency or terror
attack, this equipment must be replaced. Since every piece of equipment
is used at one time or another to treat emergency victims, Chaim Veshalom
frequently inspects the medical kits and replaces all missing or faulty
equipment.
We have volunteers who are ready and waiting to join Chaim Veshalom
Hatzola but we cannot afford to equip them! Please help us by adopting
a new EMT volunteer or by maintaining an existing one. Please take
