A mortar shell fired on Kfar Darom in Gush Katif today has lightly injured a Jewish boy and an adult. The two were evacuated for medical treatment.
Mortar and sniper fire at Jewish homes along Israel’s southern Mediterranean coast continued unabated Thursday night. Arabs launched mortar shells on Alei Sinai and Kfar Darom, causing damage to property in the latter. Arab snipers shot at an Israeli motorist at Gush Katif Junction in the same region. The vehicle was damaged, but no injuries were reported.
Arab assaults continued throughout the night in Judea and Samaria, located in the country’s center, as well. The towns of Beit Chaggai and P’sagot were attacked by Arab gunfire. On the road to Mount Eval, overlooking the desecrated Tomb of Joseph in Shechem, a roadside bomb was detonated against an IDF vehicle. Terrorists simultaneously opened fire at the soldiers with automatic weapons. South of Shechem, a Border Police unit was fired upon. In all cases, there were no injuries and soldiers returned fire.
