IAF kills terrorists on way to attack - had day jobs as life guards

[Dr. Aaron Lerner - IMRA:

You have to hand it to the Palestinians for their sense of humor:

What better day job for terrorists than life guards?]

IAF strike kills two Islamic Jihad men off Gaza coast By Avi Issacharoff, Haaretz Correspondent and News Agencies Last update - 21:48 20/10/2007 www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/914922.html

Israel Air Force aircraft on Saturday killed two Islamic Jihad men in a missile strike on a fishing boat off the coast of Gaza, the army said.

The militants were apparently on their way to carry out a terror attack.

Body parts washed ashore, but identification was difficult, medics said.

The two men were identified as Islamic Jihad members Nizar Abu Arab, 22, and Raed Shamalakh, 22. Both worked as life guards for the Gaza City municipality. Their clothes and ID cards were found on the beach.

The IDF said Abu Arab was the target of the missile strike.

Several hours after the missile hit, rescue workers with nets and divers were still searching for remains.

Earlier Saturday, IDF troops fired a missile at a group of Palestinians in the northern Gaza Strip, wounding two of them, Hamas and hospital officials said.

The IDF said that ground troops in the area fired toward three Palestinian gunmen who were approaching the Israel-Gaza fence in the area of Beit Lahiya and identified hitting them.

The army frequently launches air and ground strikes against Palestinians suspected of firing rockets at Israel.

Palestinians fire the rockets into southern Israel on an almost daily basis, disrupting life there, occasionally causing injuries and killing 12 Israelis over the past seven years.
