Maagar Mochot Poll For ZOA finds Israelis oppose additional unilateral withdrawals

A poll carried out this Sunday and Monday by Maagar Mohot Survey Institute (headed by Professor Yitzchak Katz) finds that the Israeli public does not support additional significant unilateral withdrawals if after the elections it becomes clear that the PA doesn’t fight terror and it is not possible to advance in accordance with the Road Map (no peace partner). Among those intending to vote for Kadima, only 54% support additional significant unilateral withdrawals under those conditions.

The poll was commissioned by the Zionist Organization of America - ZOA.

The telephone poll of a representative sample of 624 adult Israelis (including Israeli Arabs) has a survey error of +/- 4.5 percentage points.

Among other key findings of the poll:

60% of respondents (68% of Kadima voters) believe that a vote for Kadima is a vote in favor of additional unilateral withdrawals if there is no peace partner.

25% of respondents would still support significant unilateral withdrawals even if Qassam rockets would fall in central Israel without an effective response - as they do today in Sderot.

34% of those surveyed have either not decided what party they will vote for (23%) or refuse to reply or give replies other than the names of parties running (11%). This represents over 40 Knesset seats.

Results follow:

57% of the respondents are 100% certain that they will vote
