(IsraelNationalNews.com) At about 3:00pm today, three Jews were wounded by terrorist gunfire in a drive-by terrorist shooting attack near Shavei Shomron. Injured in the attack were Yair [ben Rivka] and Shimrit [bat Chemda] Heibi, who both were taken for emergency surgery following their arrival at Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba. Yair, 52, was injured in his hand and leg. A bullet also grazed him on his head. Shimrit, 18, Yair’s daughter, is listed in moderate-to-serious condition with a gunshot wound to her abdominal and pelvic areas according to Dr. Mario Stern, head of the hospital’s emergency services.
Also injured in the attack was the spiritual leader of Shavei Shomron, Rabbi Yehoshua Schmidt, 34, who is listed in light condition. He was injured by shrapnel.
The targeted vehicle was a Citroen taxi that belongs to Yair; a resident of Shavei Shomron, who was traveling from Kedumim towards Shavei Shomron. The automatic gunfire came from a passing car, a white Daihatsu. The terrorists fled to a nearby PA autonomous area. After being hit, Yair continued driving about 250 meters to the army base where the three were treated.
The three were taken in a basic life support ambulance to the Taiba checkpoint where an advanced life support paramedic ambulance was waiting to take the victims to Meir Hospital.
