IDF forces encircled the home of a leading Hamas terrorist last night, and
when he fired and seriously wounded a soldier instead of giving himself up, the
IAF fired missiles on his home.
Jihad Abu Sawara is the latest leading Hamas terrorist to be killed by IDF
forces. The army encircled his house in the Nuseirat neighborhood in Gaza late
last night, and called out for him to give himself up. Instead, he opened fire
and wounded three soldiers. Israel Air Force helicopters fired missiles at the
building, and the terrorist’s body was later found in the rubble. One of the
wounded soldiers was operated on in Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheva, and is
listed in serious condition.
Palestinian terrorists fired at a civilian convoy making its way to the
central Gaza community of Netzarim last night, and fired anti-tank missiles IDF
outposts in Ganei Tal and on the Israeli-Egyptian border. Another shell was fired
at Netzarim this afternoon. No one was hurt in these incidents.
Two terrorists, a male and female, on their way to a suicide attack were
arrested last night in the village of Tubas, in the northern Jordan Valley. One of
their handlers was apprehended as well, in an operation carried out by troops
of the Nachal HaHareidi and Battalion 500. It was later ascertained that the
female terrorist’s sister murdered three people four months ago when she blew
herself up outside a mall in Afula.
An infiltrator from Jordan was caught this morning on the Israeli side of the
Dead Sea. He said that he swam for 15 hours from Jordan. Israeli forces
detained and interrogated him.
