Hizbullah terrorists massively attacked IDF posts in Mt. Hermon and Mt. Dov
along the Israeli- Lebanese border yesterday. Among the dozens of anti-tank
missiles and mortar shells fired from Lebanon were two unexploded shells found at
the popular Mt. Hermon ski site. The shells were found near the ski lift. IDF
Northern Commander Gen. Benny Ganz accepted the recommendation of regional
brigade commander Col. Nadav Hajbi not to close the site.
IDF forces returned artillery fire last night, and the IAF struck from the
air at the sources of Hizbullah fire. In addition, IDF aircraft targeted several
other Hizbullah targets that operate from within Lebanese territory. The IDF
announced that it “has no interest in escalation in the area yet is prepared
for any development and will operate against anyone who uses terrorism or
supports terrorism against Israeli civilians.”
Palestinian terrorist attacks on Gush Katif since last night include the
following:
- two mortar shells towards Kfar Darom
- several incidents of anti-tank missiles and light-weapons fire against IDF
forces
- gunshots at Netzer Hazani
- another mortar in N’vei Dekalim
- and shots this morning at an IDF position near Atzmonah.
