Tonight at 8:00 PM, the Memorial Day siren will sound around the
country, and the central ceremony will then begin at the Western Wall in
Jerusalem.
Tonight at 8:00 PM, the Memorial Day siren will sound around the country,
marking the beginning of the day’s solemn events. The main state ceremony will
take place at the Western Wall in Jerusalem. Tomorrow morning at 9:30, the state
memorial ceremony for the Israel Police will get underway at the Mt. Herzl
Military Cemetery. At 11:00, a two-minute siren will sound, marking the start of
memorial services in military cemeteries around the country. The central
ceremony will be held in Jerusalem’s Mt. Herzl. At 1 PM, a state ceremony will be
held for victims of terror attacks – a relatively new feature of official
Memorial Day commemorations. At 8 PM, torches will be lit at Mt. Herzl, marking
the conclusion of Memorial Day and the beginning of Israel’s 56th Independence
Day.
