TNUVA, Israel`s largest food producer, will formally launch its new
involvement in the U.S. market with a “Special Evening of Israel`s Best Tastes 2005″
on Thursday May 19th at the Center for Jewish History in Manhattan. Leading
personalities from the food industry, community and government are expected
to join the ceremony which will also showcase many of the products that are
already on supermarket shelves.
“This is a very special day for TNUVA as it introduces its world class
quality kosher products to the all important kosher market in America,” said Arik
Reichman, chairman of the Board of the company. With $1.5 billion in annual
sales, TNUVA is the largest kosher food producer in the world.
Yoram Bahiri, president of TNUVA U.S.A said that “we are extremely
encouraged by the enthusiastic response that we have received in the past half year.
It bodes well for the future of our company which hopes to be a significant
player in the U.S. food market in general and the kosher food market in
particular.”
Founded in 1929 as a cooperative of Jewish farmers in what was then called
Palestine, TNUVA has evolved into a world leader in foods. Jewish consumers
have come to rely upon the company to supply healthy and nourishing food
products. The company produces a wide variety of delectable salad dressings,
spreads and meat/poultry marinades, many of which will be on display at the formal
launching on May 19th.
TNUVA has invested over $250 million in Israeli`s newest and most
technologically advanced dairy facility at Alon Tavor (Galilee). It is known for its
creativity and innovation in rolling out new product lines including low-fat
cheese products and all natural salad dressings and marinades.
Some of the products that are already being sold in the U.S. and will be on
display on May 19th include such main dishes smoked salmon (lox) slices, hake
fillets, herring and vegetable platters, smoked mackerel slices and
mackerel fillets. A growing business for TNUVA has been its salads, including
vegetable salad with Mediterranean Bulgarian style cheese, salmon in mayonnaise,
herring in mayonnaise, vegetable + Emek Bis, and lettuce salad with Olivia
dressing. Also on display will be a line of pastries including cheese borekas,
potato borekas, pizza borekas, amend mushroom borekas.
The notables will also have an opportunity to taste some of the award
winning wines of the Efrat Winery.
