IDF SPOKESPERSON ANNOUNCEMENT
Terrorist attack thwarted when soldiers uncovered an explosive belt at
the Beit Iba crossing
The explosive belt was uncovered in a bag of a Palestinian who tried to
exit Nablus.
Earlier this afternoon around 14:00, IDF soldiers at the Beit Iba
crossing identified a Palestinian acting in a suspicious manner at the
crossing.
The soldiers asked him to empty the bag he was carrying. As the
Palestinian was emptying his bag, the soldiers discovered an object that
they suspected contained explosives. Inside the bag, the force uncovered
a two KG explosive device that was composed of four pipe bombs and two
batteries to activate the explosive belt.
The explosive belt was detonated in a controlled manner by engineering
corps sappers a short while ago.
The Palestinian was taken for questioning by the security forces.
