Elbert Kerson, of Union, NJ, and Mrs. Jeannie Salandi, of Highland Park, NJ were murdered on August 5, 1973 when terrorists from the PLO’s Balck September unit attacked the Athens, Greece Airport.
PLO terrorists took hostages at the U.S. embassy in Khartoum, Sudan on March 2, 1973, and murdered the U.S. ambassador to Sudan, Cleo A. Noel, Jr. and a second American diplomat, G. Curtis Moore.
Eleven U.S. citizens from Puerto Rico were murdered by terrorists from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a PLO member organization, in an attack on the Lod airport near Tel Aviv on May 30, 1972: Enid Crespo, age 20; Esflorent Biner Margon; Angel Berganzo; Blanca Gonzales; Antonio Rodriquez, age 56; Jose Ottero; Carmen Gusman; Mrs. Juan Padilia; and Ester Gonzales.
Barbara Ertle, of Grandville, Michigan, was murdered by Palestinian Arab terrorists from the PLO and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a PLO member organization, who shot at a busload of pilgrims in the village of Halhoul, near Hebron on February 23, 1970.
Mrs. Ertle, 31, and her husband Theodore, a Baptist Minister, were passengers on a tourist bus that was ambushed. She left behind two children, ages 7 and 4.
Eight American were among those murdered on February 21, 1970, when Palestinian Arab terrorists bombed an Israel-bound Swiss jet: Melvin Meyerson of Stamford, CT; Thomas Lingafelter of Huntington, Long Island, NY; Mr. & Mrs. S. Silvershots of Chula Vista, CA; Dr. and Mrs. Glenn Ware of Barrington Hills, IL; and Dr. Edwin Richard Weinermann, and his wife Shirley, of Hamden, CT.
